Message 2125 - Posted 16 Jan 2007 17:05:47 UTC

Was running (1182) under Windows, stopped getting work.

Converted to Linux (1348) and still won't get work.

Getting "there was work, but it was committed to other platforms" message.

This is due to the homogeneous redundancy mechanism we use. It means that there are unsent results in the shared memory area, but these have to be assigned to a certain platform (e.g. a Intel Mac or a Windows/AMD machine). If your machines is not one of the required platforms, you will see the message below. At some point when new wu's have been generated again, you will get work again, but it might take a while.

Thanks
Andre

What type(s) platform(s) do you need?

Is there a way for us to see the platforms the WUs are reserved for?

Thanks.

That's a good point. Usually the server status page is a good tool to see if work is available or not. It might be worth to think about a modified server status page for Docking@home, where the available work is split by the HR classes, if this is technically feasible. This would be a big help, once the project is becoming productive (= out of alpha test stage).

Alex

Great idea! I've added this to our bugzilla database as an enhancement. Just need to find somebody to implement it :-)

Thanks,
Andre
