First, I'm guessing that people
should NOT abort
work units in progress and should
keep getting work units as long as the old ones last
so that people will get credit for the WUs they've already crunched that need someone else to crunch them to meet HR quorum and get credit.
Now, about the new work units, Will this just be a HR change or will there also be changes to the docking client program?

Have you read a good science fiction novel lately?
Thanks David. This will only be a HR algorithm change. The reason for draining wu's from the system is that the HR codes will change and if we do not first get the current wu's out, it would create a mess after the change where current assigned wu's would never find another host or worse, get distributed to a host with the wrong HR class.
So yes, please keep on crunching what you have and receive right now; these are perfectly good wu's!
A change to the docking client program regarding checkpointing is also coming up, but we are still in the final test phase and are fixing some small issues that came up during tests.
Thanks to everybody for their help and patience!
Andre
