I can log on to my account at Docking@Home. BOINC seems to connect to the docking scheduling sever but gets 0 new tasks when requesting new work. Am I missing something simple? Is there a message for temporarily no more work available or work units denied?
Thank you, william.

Results ready to send 0 so there currently is no work for anyone, not a problem on your side.

p.s.: You can find that link in the pulldown menu under Status=>Server Status

The results in progress number is not reducing as quickly as I would have expected. Some users must have fairly large caches of work units.

Thanks, I have a workunit now.

Does it seem strange that 'Results' are sent out and 'Workunits' are validated and assimilated.
Shouldn't the data be called workunits until worked through and then they become results. Is there another reason for why these words are used the way they are?

Sorry, me just being pedantic to offset my embarrassment at missing the server status understanding.

Some projects send out the same workunit to more than one computer and compare the returned results to eachother, to ensure that unreliable hosts do not inject invalid data into the scientific database.

The BOINC data structure (server side) has a second table, where each workunit can have 1 or more results, making one result something like an instance of a workunit.

The naming comes from this data structure. It is not necessarily logical, might have been influenced by old SETI, where everyone talked about "WUs". For projects with only one result per workunit it would work to "switch" the name depending on the calculation status.
