All our executables are 32 bits, we have to use the label 64 for compatibility with old bOINC clients. You can check this other thread

this is misleading.

all 32bit is combatibel with 64bit. is granted of intel and amd.

please rename.

projeckte others also use this designation.
for example:abc@home.
projeckt this is 64bit executable

I've found little sign that a significant number of BOINC projects actually have 64-bit clients available. I'd expect the few that do to use x64 in the application name instead of x86 - a common sign that a program is compiled for 64-bit mode.

Also, some of the recent 64-bit versions of BOINC (at least those for Vista) automatically display *32 after the application name if running in 32-bit mode.

The SIMAP project is now testing a 64-bit client; the first one I've seen.

They generally offer workunits only for the first few days of each month, though.

Generally, the _64 at the end of workunit names indicates only that they can run under 64-bit versions of BOINC, not that they will run in 64-bit mode.
