hi all,

I don't have BOINC set as screensaver - I have my display set to power down after 15 minutes.

I tried resetting the project and I still get the same results.
6/4/2008 5:41:35 PM|Docking@Home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 7971 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks I tried stopping BOINC entirely and re-starting BOINC but that didn't help either. Please note, I'm not running BOINC as a service on either machine. It's just running as a regular program (Yes, I have to approve it for UAC each time the BOINC client starts on Vista). I don't know if not running as a Windows service makes any difference. ____________ The views expressed are my own. I tried 'show graphics' and activated the screensaver. Both screens are black.

So far I don't see any big problems with the graphics. Shortcut keys and tabs work well.

Hi all, could everyone who has the screen saver actually working please post with some details about your setup. |

Screensaver works on my home windows machine.

I'm using BOINC version 5.10.45 - single user installation w/o screensaver option on both my attached machines. (I'm using "show graphics" instead.)

Could every one having the blank screen problem detach and re-attach? Then post again if it still does not work. |

Seems checkpointing is not working, everyone having the same problem? |

David Ball, are you using boinc view? Another volunteer noticed that detaching and reattaching through it didn't work.

Seems checkpointing is not working, everyone having the same problem? Yup. Although the progress bar is counting nicely. ;-) ____________ Bribe me with Lasagna!! :-) |

Checkpointing with CHARMM has been very challenging in the past but we have been able to implement it successfully. We will look at the problem and keep you posted.

Detach and re-attached using BoincView. Show Graphics in Boinc Manager and BoincView both display graphic correctly. Screensaver displayed correctly.

Thank you Michela and everyone at the Docking team for all your hard work - I'm so happy to see the project has come back to life again!

David Ball, are you using boinc view? Another volunteer noticed that detaching and reattaching through it didn't work. I used the standard boinc manager that comes with the boinc client and did a reset project. It downloaded the application again as you can see from the logs in my original post. If you'd like, I can detach completely, delete any docking related files that I can find, and then re-attach manually. ____________ The views expressed are my own. David Ball, are you using boinc view? Another volunteer noticed that detaching and reattaching through it didn't work. Yeah, go ahead and detach and reattach completely, it seems that even resetting will not fix the issue. |

David Ball, are you using boinc view? Another volunteer noticed that detaching and reattaching through it didn't work. I did, but now it won't give me a WU 6/4/2008 8:21:46 PM|Docking@Home|Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms) The machine is host # 222 http://docking.cis.udel.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=222 ____________ The views expressed are my own. Arun is sending some more of those bad boys, tell me if your screen saver works.

I got a WU and the screensaver now works on that machine. (EDIT: This is the one where I not only detached/attached but also went looking for docking related files and deleted them including the slot where it had been running.)
(ligand and complex only) This works for the Ligand view (and is very obvious), but I can't see anything changing on the Complex view. Good Work! I'm going to bed soon but will be around tomorrow. ____________ The views expressed are my own. Facts are subject to memory error :-) Have you read a good science fiction novel lately? |

David Ball, are you using boinc view? Another volunteer noticed that detaching and reattaching through it didn't work. Just FYI, I think that is a BoincView problem as it only happens on one box out of my 4, and I've now confirmed it fails on that host repeatedly. Well, it still seems weird that I can use BV to detach/attach that box to other projects, but even so this BV behavior seems either irrelevant or lowest possible priority for Docking. Especially as I'm not sure BV is maintained any more. |

Screen saver seems to have been a success! Robert did a very good job putting it together. Thank you all for your help. We hope to have it working on Linux and Mac very soon. |

Em ..... maybe I overread something but I have not found info about "high level" - this screen is black on my P4 with XP I don't think your alone, also mine was showing a black screen. Maybe future units will have this "high level" included. As Abel said... Robert did a very good job. I like the tabs and the zoom/rotate functions. ;-) ____________ |

Em ..... maybe I overread something but I have not found info about "high level" - this screen is black on my P4 with XP Hi Inais, the "high level" isn't ready yet. ;-) EDIT: I found it in Arun's first post here: The high level tab does not work on the interactive mode yet. ____________ Bribe me with Lasagna!! :-) |

I can see, rotate and zoom the protein, ligand and complex on Vista, XP and SuSE 10.2 Linux. On all platforms, the resources page shows a slowly filling can denoting percentage completion, but the two X-Y plots under that are blank.

I can see, rotate and zoom the protein, ligand and complex on Vista, XP and SuSE 10.2 Linux. On all platforms, the resources page shows a slowly filling can denoting percentage completion, but the two X-Y plots under that are blank. Yes, this is known behavior. The current strategy for loading the graph and the percent progress bar come from a single file which is updated every so often called percentdone.txt. The problem with this is that it doesn't contain a history of the status and only has the last value. So the Min Energy and RMSD shown in the graph are only the current ones found in the file. Since there is only one value no line can be drawn and you won't see anything in the graph. Right now we're looking into a way to make this look a little nicer. I'll keep you posted. Kevin |

Okay, it is of no concern to me as I don't view the graphics anyway, but Michela had asked for reports on the screensavers functionality across platforms in
this thread
