Drop an email to dockingadmin@utep.edu and mention the computers you have. At the moment we only accept linux boxes and macs; more than enough windoze aboard.

Thanks!
Andre

Also those who uses virtual machine system like VMWare and manages linux through that can be welcomed:)

I was under the impression that this had been D@H policy for quite some time; however, I have noticed that a vast number of the latest influx of new users are running Windows boxes. Doesn't this create an even larger imbalance for the existing HR issue?

Yes it will create a bigger inbalance for HR, that's why we want to only let linux/mac in at the moment. Actually I noticed the 'work committed to other platforms' message on one of my linux boxes today: the shared memory is full of windows-reserved results now!

Umm... Can't the server spare the shared memory for each platforms eg 500 for Windows, 400 for linux, and 300 for mac?

Not yet, but the boinc dev team is working on such a solution I believe. I don't know how long it would take to get this into the released source code, but it would possibly be an interesting solution for the HR problem. The other solution is making the app turn out a result that is the same for all platforms of course :-) but that might also take a bit longer (we are working on this possibility in the background too)
