Hi,

i'am getting a "Validate error" or "Client error" for every WU (for ca 200 WUs). Is this normal? Can I fix this Problem?
My System: Linux64 (3.0.4), Boinc latest.

Hi kortex,

All of your workunits are having the client error or validate error problem, and I checked from the server side and did not found any indications of the problem. So it is possible that you have some corrupted files in your boinc client, and they prevent the results from uploading/validating successfully, can you please reset the docking project (this will download necessary files from the docking server) from the client and see if the problem goes away?

Thanks!
Boyu

Hi,

I tested the client version 6.13.6 which is the pre-release version and got the same error you have, but I have no problem on the same machine using the current stable client version. I am working on investigating more, at the mean time, can you use the current stable release of boinc client? Thanks!

Boyu

The cause of this validation problem is that upcoming BOINC client 6.13.x signatures is incompatible with older server versions.
Signatures for tasks issued by older server version is incompatible with expected signature from newer server versions,so the way to solve the problem is to upgrade the sever software to a newer version.
Of course the signature validation needs to be closed for a while so that we'll have enough time to finish existing WUs without validation error~

Dear volunteers,

There was some incompatible issue between the new client 6.13.x versions and our server version. But we have applied a patch to our server and made some tests to make sure that the jobs from new client versions are successfully returned. And we may consider updating our server version in December or January when our project developers don't have classes and can devote full time. Sorry for the inconvenience it brought!

Please let us know if you still have this type of errors. Thanks for reporting the errors to us so quickly! We really appreciate it!
