Hi All,

We improved the graphics part: the two graphs with energy and rmsd have been improved and starting from charmm34 6.15 they show the evolution of the two values as the simulation evolves.

We are getting closer and closer to the beta.

I am most anxious for this, so I might turn my dogs loose.

The relocation to Beta is planed for the end of August. For that time, we will remove the code invitation for the generation of new accounts. "End of August" seems to be quite near, at least if it was really 2008 you were talking about ;) I definitely don't want to rush you, but is there a new estimate when it will really happen? And what are the final obstacles that prevented the move 'til now? ____________ Gruesse vom Saenger For questions about Boinc look in the BOINC-Wiki |

"End of August" seems to be quite near, at least if it was really 2008 you were talking about ;) Well now is September, but we definitely meant August 2008. Maybe this week we will have the mayor upgrade. We are working hard to overcome the last obstacles:

That is great! I love learning the science behind the projects I support! I just signed up for this project. Saw this on your site: "Extend knowledge with respect to protein-ligand complexes and make this knowledge accessible to the scientific community via cyber-infrastructures" What does this mean, that you will not be submitting papers to peer-reviewed scientific journals, but will create a data base of our results that other scientists can access? Not sure... Thanks for the clarification! Regards, Bob P. |

No, of course we are sending our results first to peer-reviewed scientific journals/conferences, but after that we will make them available, so that the scientific community in general can benefit from them, and also can validate (or contradict) our findings. That's how science advances. Thank you for joining us [ :) ] |

That's how science advances. Thank you! It is always nice to see links to published papers/conferences on a project site! And the main BOINC site has been publicizing links to scientific publications of BOINC-based projects. All of which is really great! Looking forward to seeing work from DAH, at some point in the future! :) Thanks again. Regards, Bob P. |

Hi All,

Please, if you haven't done it yet (in the last month), you need to detach-attach the project to receive the new key and be able to receive new workunits. Is a project 'reset' sufficient or does it have to be a full blown detach/attach? I did a reset a while back (and haven't seen any messages) but thought I'd best check! :? |

If you have been able to download new work, then you don't need to detach and attach, in your case it might have been sufficient the reset.

Beta is looking great! I attached for the first time in the normal way, got and completed work, checkpoints worked, and got credit. XML stats work both for the project in showing an increase in participants and individually in showing my credits on my signature. Great to finally be a part of docking!

Joined this project today, attached 5 hosts, got work, crunched without problems, credit granted. Trouble-free. If only all projects were this simple to join! :)

Looks like the move to Beta was too successful as we have run out of work.

Well moving to Beta is going fine, most of the issues have been solved and we got about 1000 volunteers. But this specific case was an error with the work generator. It's back now, I'll keep watching during the day to make sure it doesn't die again.

It still shows No Work available on the Server status page with a growing amount waiting for deletion. Catch'a later, Conan. ____________ |

Should work be taking 4+ hours? Nothing I have done so far has exceeded two hours and most have been right around 1 hour on 2.4-2.5 ghz quads. I now have a number of work units reporting over 4 hours cpu time.

The project is stable and therefore we moved to beta. We have still one major thing that is currently challenging us:
|
||
ID: 4397 | Rating: 0 | rate: / | ||
charmm seems to randomly generate this error: -177 (0xffffffffffffff4f) ERR_RSC_LIMIT_EXCEEDED A resources usage, such as disk space or CPU time, has been exceeded. Typically, exceeding the CPU time is more common, as it's often underestimated. In my anecdotal experience it's more often underestimated in Linux because this OS, unlike Windows, runs BOINC processes (or any other nice process) at the lowest CPU speed (see this ), whereas it seems to be common that projects use Windows runs to estimate the CPU time limit for WUs. On a good note for my systems, The project wu seem to be working on all os types.

Howdy,

Please expect many short workunits, we are trying to distribute trypsin again, but these complexes tend to have energy violations, which result in shorter workunits. Sorry for the inconvenience |
