From news:
We've temporarily implemented a fix for the excessive work queue problem: instead of distributing 1 replica per workunit per user, we now distribute 1 replica per workunit per host. This way, if you own multiple machines, you will be able to get other replicas from the queue.

Glad I don't have dual quad hosts.......they'd still be hungry.

j2satx,

Is there really such a beast as a "dual quad host?" I take it to mean a motherboard with two Intel 775 sockets and a BIOS that will handle quad core CPUs.

Go take a look at the top computers (RAC) on SETI and Rosetta. There are bunch of them. Even a dual-quad Mac Pro, which is #1 on SETI.

Look in the forums on SETI for "who", an Intel Engineer. He's got the one called V8.

You can rent them as dedicated servers. They have 2 of the Xeon Cloverton Processors (Xeon 53xx) which results in 8 cores and 2x8MB cache.

See Xeon Woodcrest Series on this page . Click on "1x250GB SATA II" in that section and you'll see a table to select which processor you want and the base monthly prices.

Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5310 - 1.6 GHz (Clovertown) - 2 x 8MB cache $319
Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5320 - 1.86GHz (Clovertown) - 2 x 8MB cache $359
Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5345 - 2.33GHz (Clovertown) - 2 x 8MB cache $399

One more note: The dual quads must use the Xeon version. Core 2 Quad will not work in a 2 chip configuration. And Xeon means that the socket type is 771, not 775.
