Hi,

on the Intel Macs the crunching time is about 11.15 hours. The same time as 5.06.

http://docking.utep.edu/result.php?resultid=163561

BOINC 5.8.17 http://docking.utep.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1334.

On this old PPC Mac http://docking.utep.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1868 the time is about 6.98 hours.

ON this PPC Mac http://docking.utep.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1875 i thing i would be around 8-9 hours.

On one of my windows PC http://docking.utep.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=1660 the time http://docking.utep.edu/result.php?resultid=163260 is 1.97 hours.

One thing i have.
On my Power Macintosh [Power Macintosh Model PowerMac7,2] [AltiVec] the CPU time for one WU is for exmaple 30,449.42 seconds ( http://docking.utep.edu/result.php?resultid=153090 )
and on another Power Macintosh [Power Macintosh Model PowerMac11,2] [AltiVec] the cpu time for one WU is for example 28,374.98 ( http://docking.utep.edu/result.php?resultid=156798 )

I would say that there is something wrong, because the small PÜPC is about 1 GHz and the other is a Quad Core with 2.5 GHz.

On my Linux machine the working time is always 1 or 0 or 2 seconds for 1 WU, but the Realtime it saya about 2 or 3 hours.

Message boards : Number crunching : HUGE Slowdown Intel Mac

The same here. All Intel Macs needs 11 hours for 1 WU, with 5.04 they need 1 hour 37 minutes. I have reset the project or disconnected to D&H and reconnect, by that doesn't help. So it must be a problem with charmm 5.05, i would say.

One thing with the new app. With 5.02 the crunching time is about 1.34 hours with the 5.05 it is about 11 hours on all my Intel Macs

I have downloaded 13 Workunits on an AMD Duron 800 with Windows 98.

All 13 WUs failed for the same reason.

Boinc Client is 5.8.16

Hi,

now the list in the shared momory for Intel Mac is empty.

Frank

Frank, how do you get the speed out of BOINC? You're consistently putting out more than double the workunits that I am. You're processor is only slightly faster, so I can't figure out how you do it. Would you share how it's done?

I didn't make anything. I'm using boinc_5.8.16. The macs have 2 prozessors with 2 cores, therefore each mac crunch 4 WUs at the same time. The crunching time is about 1 hour 36 minutes per WU.
