Message boards : Number crunching : Cobblestones ( Message 5180 )Posted 2945 days ago by Kevint Could the admin please delete this host, and remove entire credit of the user. 36565 Obviously this is someone that cares nothing about the science and only about generating credit. I read 3Dnow's message boards. I could name names if you really want me to. Or I could even post the 3Dnow's message board thread here for all to read. But this quote from your own Gispel AKA _Docker_ with Twoodee in tow. [Docker] _ may have used a modified Client. But with the computer linked by me in the Docking forum (1 TFlop/s for a AthlonMP 1.3GHz ) I also simply only edited client_state.xml. One does not have to make more really. Talking about modifying the xml file/benchmarks. http://www.planet3dnow.de/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=364692&page=68 You decide. These kinds of actions are childish, and have no place in a scientific community. Those responsible should be punished. And if these acts of treason are supported by the team, the entire team should be punished. There are better things to do than babysit, like work on getting out the science. |

Message boards : Number crunching : Work Units That Never Want To End ( Message 4978 )Posted 3022 days ago by Kevint Thank you. I have just too many hosts to check each one of them and abort just the bad WU's. |

Message boards : Number crunching : Work Units That Never Want To End ( Message 4976 )Posted 3022 days ago by Kevint You need to cancel all 1hpv tasks on the server. Agreed, A server side abort would be the thing to do. Please |

Message boards : Number crunching : No work available for x64 Windows machines? ( Message 4892 )Posted 3067 days ago by Kevint Hello everyone, I'm getting always this annoying error message when trying to do some testing... *sob sob* ;-) How about installing in protected mode with the screen saver selection not selected. Or do you need all those pretty colors to keep the cat entertained ? I am getting work on my Win-64 boxes, but don't have any screen savers selected no installed. And am using 6.4 something or other.. |

Message boards : Number crunching : Cobblestones ( Message 4490 )Posted 3225 days ago by Kevint Hi All, we are discussing about this item (increasing the credit), but we have some concerns. One is that if we increase the credit much, we will attract the kind of volunteers that do crazy things with the code or with the machines (sw modifications or overclocking) just to gain more credit, even to the price of returning us bad results. Although we are using a strategy to validate, we don't want to go back to the use of HR and things like that, because as you know it results in longer times to get the credit and discrepancies between the claimed credit of one user and other, which ultimately means less credit for many users. LESS ??? and why would you want to start to grant less? You are already one of the lowest paying projects around. If you want to increase your participant base and get more volenteers to help with your projects you should be at least on par with the other projects. And - what does overclocking have to do with it ? Just asking. Overclocking just to gain more credit - isn't this part of the fun. to overclock machines to see how fast we can make them go? Nearly ALL my machines are highly overclocked. For example - over clocked |

Message boards : Number crunching : Zero Progress ( Message 4403 )Posted 3243 days ago by Kevint I just attached to this project with many hosts.. Too many to go to each host and do this.. Can I just reset the project on these hosts, would it take care of the problem ? Or is a detach/re-attach more in the making. |
