Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Pending credits for completed work units

I have 19 successfully completed, on April 5, 2011, work units that have not received any credits. They are marked as "pending." What's up? These are task IDs:
20073101 thru 20073104
20073093 thru 20073099
20073045
20072948 thru 20072950
20072879 thru 20072880
20072803 thru 20072804

Well, when I check this morning they had all been given credit.

Thanks,
GeneM

Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Poem@home display Wu and use GPU ? like Folding@home ?

Michela,

We are working with CUDA because when we started the coding, it was more mature.
You are right, OpenCL code is portable across GPUs and CPUs. At the same time OpenCL is not as fast as CUDA at this point. The OpenCL community is making interesting progress and we are observing and considering the next move.

I assume that your are using BOINC because you have a enormous amount of work to be done. And so your desire for speed is not to finish a job as fast as possible but to finish as much work as possible in a given amount of time. Given these assumptions it is hard to believe that you are maximizing work done by focusing on speed using CUDA and excluding so many GPUs by not using OpenCL.

Message boards : Number crunching : New work units completing in 38 seconds

Am I the only one whose work units are completing so quickly. It takes about 24 seconds to complete 1%. Then about 26 seconds to complete 3%. Then the rate goes exponential to 100% in 38 seconds. I am going through a large number of work units. I have a quad core processor and on three of the cores I have older work units that are going to take about three hours to complete. It is just the most recent work units that are completing so fast.

Apparently most people are having this happen as they went through all their available workunits in record time. Got a feeling this isn't right but will have to wait till the Docking people notice it. My 3.4GHz quad core usually finishes a workunit in about 2.5 hours. So since these are taking less than a minute these must be an error or something special they are testing.

They do seem to be validating and giving the default credit though.

Any Docking project administrators out there that know what's happening?

You are right about the getting credit. I am getting 102 credits for every work unit completed! So in 12 hours I'll get more than 115,000 credits. I don't know if I get that many work units or not, but I have been getting them for the last hour no problem.

Solved. I left BOINC running and it eventually started running correctly. I have no idea what was wrong or what solved the problem.

I am a long time Docking participant.
I recently had trouble with my installation and completely un-installed the Boinc application and then re-installed it. Now I get these errors:

Mon 23 Nov 2009 08:29:05 AM PST|Docking@Home|Finished download of logo.jpg
Mon 23 Nov 2009 08:29:05 AM PST|Docking@Home|[error] MD5 check failed for logo.jpg
Mon 23 Nov 2009 08:29:05 AM PST|Docking@Home|[error] expected d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e, got 8aa044e02dc9da0fc75765c0030b58b8
Mon 23 Nov 2009 08:29:05 AM PST|Docking@Home|[error] Checksum or signature error for logo.jpg

Boinc keeps trying to download every minute or two and reports success downloading but then the work units report the previous errors. Boinc has repeated this many times in the past hour.

Appreciate any help and will supply any information needed.

Of the last forty work units returned by my computer GreyGhost 15 of them have had compute errors and I have 3 more waiting to be returned. It takes over eight hours to get to this state. Then I, of course, get no credit. This computer has been running Docking since Docking came back on line. Is anyone else having this problem. Is there a solution.

Task IDs for some: 3270714 3269481 3269336 3268693

Thanks,
Gene
