You need to cancel all 1hpv tasks on the server.

As soon as I abort all 1hpv... tasks on my computer, it downloads more of the same.

Fantastic. I just read the whole thing. I added it to my collection of project newsletters, three in total. Hum, they all seem to be from.....

Please keep up the good work. Sometimes it is hard to follow along on the message boards, for lack of time mostly. The newsletter lets me know what the project is doing, where it is going, and what it has done or doing with my computers contribution. I feel more compelled to continue to contribute to a project where I know that my effort is made use of.

I look forward to more newsletters, well not too many but more than every one or so.

Michela has upgraded the software on our test server and is currently running tests there. When these are successful it is d@h's turn.

Cheers
Andre

[edit]How did I suddenly become Test User? :-)

Once the upgrade is applied here, and work is ready to be issued again, it would be a good idea to email all users that the project is back online and with the new URL, include instructions to detach old url and reattach just to be clear on the point. I know many probably most users already know this, but there may be some that have not been keeping up.

Looks like we might be able to generate some work after X-mas and I guess you guys are the first to get it :-) Probably some of the old utep stuff first for testing and as soon as Michela can get her students to work on this, new docking problems will follow.

Happy holidays!
Andre

PS Good point about the stats, didn't think of those... what's the best way of reaching all of the stats sites to let them know about the new url?

Live it to the users, word gets around fast.

Willy of BOINCstats updated on December 24th.

I just left a post on MundayWeb as I did not see Neil had been notified yet.

I do not know all the other stat sites, but word will get around quickly.

Happy New Year.

Thanksgiving - Celebrated the 4th Thursday of November.
In the United States, Thanksgiving is a four day weekend which usually marks a pause in school and college calendars. Most business and government workers (78% in 2007) are also given both Thanksgiving and the day after as paid holidays. Families and friends gather for a reunion, a day of thanks, and a festive meal.

Thanksgiving meals are traditionally family events where certain kinds of food are served. First and foremost, turkey is the featured item in most Thanksgiving feasts (so much so that Thanksgiving is sometimes facetiously referred to as "Turkey Day"). Stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn, turnips, and pumpkin pie are commonly associated with Thanksgiving dinner. Often guests bring food items or help with cooking in the kitchen as part of a happy, communal meal.

In keeping with the holiday theme of giving thanks, during the socializing or meal, people talk about what they are thankful for or tell about experiences during the past year which have caused them to feel grateful.

America's Independence Day - Fourth of July.

In the United States, Independence Day (commonly known as "the Fourth of July", "July 4th" or "America Day") is a federal holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain.

Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, beer, picnics, baseball games, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Fireworks have been associated with the Fourth of July since 1777.

read more about it in the wiki which explains history, interesting facts and how we celebrate this day.

Let us know where that island and beach is and we'll fly by. Do you happen to have a runway in your backyard ;-)

Slap on some pontoons and, land in the sound, its a big target and easier to hit than a runway ;)

Actually there is a runway or two nearby. Manteo Airport on Roanoke Island and there is a smaller field located just behind the Wright Brothers monument. Ever hear of a place called Kill Devil Hills, but there is only one hill or Kitty-Hawk, Nags Head, Cape Hatteras, etc, etc. Its all close by. Its all barrier islands located in the farthest eastern part of North Carolina.

I would like to wish Andre, Michela and the project my best.

"No matter where you go, there you are."

And we participants have also come to know you and your avatar, Andre. Stay in touch even if it is in an un-official capacity.

As an east-coaster myself, welcome. Hop on down to our island and beaches sometime, I'm sure their much better than Delaware's.
