>> @ Dingo, Welcome to Docking@home, you will boost the Australian presence here (currently about 4 of us have credit).

You are running Linux and there has been found that for some reason Docking requires a very large stack size to be set by Linux.
The project team are still working on getting an automatic size adjuster into the project file that is downloaded but this is still in development.
This is an Alpha project after all so as they find the bugs they try and fix them.

The solution to your problem, and to nearly all testers using Linux on this project has been to 1) Stop Boinc
2) Add the line " ulimit -s unlimited " (without the " marks), as the first line in the 'run_manager' file in Boinc folder.
3) Restart Boinc
If you have a dual processor then you should also add the same line to 'run_client' file in the Boinc folder as well. Also if a dual core then you may also need to reboot (as I needed to with a dual core Opteron).

Hope this helps.

Hi Conan

I am the founder of BOINC@AUSTRALIA the #1 australian team. http://docking.utep.edu/team_display.php?teamid=63

Thanks for the help . I have reattached and added the line in the files you stated. I will see if this helps. I hate doing work that is not credited or the science used.

Thanks Again

I rcommended you for User of the Day

For new members: Read first, Ask next. We've checked many phenomena around the project, so it's relatively easy for you to find solutions.

I have detached from Docking I will wait till the bugs are ironed out. There are a lot of projects that I run and I do not have the time or the inclination to investigate every one and read all the doco on each project. I thought that message boards for for us to report the problems. I guess I was wrong

I attached my Linux Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz HT and all my WU's are finishing with the error "2006-11-14 12:21:34 [Docking@Home] Unrecoverable error for result 1tng_mod0001_11327_93436_1 (process exited with code 1 (0x1))"

The link to the results is HERE

I aborted the remaining WU's I had.

Also the claimed credit is about 5 credits per hour which is fairly low, I think, compaired to other projects like SETI,Einstein etc.
