Message boards : Number crunching : Computation error

ALL work is ending in computation error, nothing works, what has gone wrong?
No response from the Project Administrators either, can't they see that the error rate has sky rocketed?

See 34615435
also 34609862

<core_client_version>6.10.58</core_client_version>

Exit code 1 work units start to run and fail after a short while.

Exit code 1282 work units fails almost straight away.

Message boards : Number crunching : 20 plus hours run time

This WU was running for over 20 hours and still had 24 hours to go.

Time was ticking over in Boinc Manager and taking up resources (such as memory) on the computer (Linux) but I couldn't see it using any CPU.

I aborted it.

(Curiously a YOYO work unit was doing the same thing)

Not getting any Windows work units.

Linux appears OK.

Short work unit problems not fixed yet it seems

Does Docking still have the annoying 0.000% progress bug?

G'Day Vaughan,

I have not noticed it in the past two weeks of processing work units.

I am running both Windows and Linux, on 5 AMD Phenom processors and so far there has been no problems at all.

Message boards : Number crunching : low credit on some WUs

( Message 6096 )

I was still getting them up till the 23rd.

It is possibly a validator problem as the same work unit types are now granting the normal credit amount per work unit.

So I received the faulty work unit types from the 21st till the 24th and 25th but the credit was only low from the 21st till the 23rd and has been OK since.

You Bewdy
It has taken me a long time,
(seeing as I was one of the first to join this project), but I have now made it to 2,000,000 cobblestones on Docking.

This now joins my Einstein and QMC projects that have passed 2,000,000 cobblestones (CPU projects).

I will probably take a short break to run a few other projects and get their totals up.

(P.S. "You Bewdy" is Aussie slang for "you beauty" or "you little Bewdy (Beauty)", can also mean eureka, great, the best, excellent and a host of other adjectives meaning that you are happy.)

Message boards : Number crunching : low credit on some WUs

( Message 6088 )

The low credit is not just confined to "1ec11g2k" work units.

I am getting low credit on (all 34 points) 4 different types now

1ec11g2k_mod0014crossdockinghiv1
1ebw1g2k_mod0014crossdockinghiv1
1ebz1g2k_mod0014crossdockinghiv1
1g351g2k_mod0014crossdockinghiv1

So far amounting to 36 work units with more to process.

Also as reported in the previous post, all the work units still to be processed are now showing greatly extended run estimates.
On a machine that would normally take less than 3 hours it is showing 11 hours, and on a machine that takes just over 4 hours it is showing 20 hours to run.

Something is a bit strange here.

Message boards : Number crunching : Docking At Home Work Units Not Credited to Existing Accounts

If your e-mail address is the same across all projects then all should link up eventually. If Docking is the only project that you have on this computer then by adding a project that is already on one of your other computers (even if you don't crunch that project on this computer) will link them together and correlate your CPID (Boinc project identifier), this should allow every thing to be added to the one account. It may take a day or two for everything to line up.

Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Why am I only receiving 4 task to process per day?

( Message 6063 )

Here are the error messages I am receiving.

11/6/2010 6:40:23 PM|Docking|update requested by user
11/6/2010 6:40:26 PM|Docking|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
11/6/2010 6:40:26 PM|Docking|Requesting new tasks
11/6/2010 6:40:28 PM|Docking|Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
11/6/2010 6:40:28 PM|Docking|Message from server: No work sent
11/6/2010 6:40:28 PM|Docking|Message from server: (reached daily quota of 4 results)

Upon completion of processing these 4 task my computer cpu remains idle until 12:00 am the next day.
How do I fix this so work can be downloaded when needed?

G'Day King Leo,
I assume you refer to This Host
It is running constant errors, so Boinc throttles your machine back to 1 WU per Core per day to reduce the number of work units that you are trashing.
As you return successful work units the amount downloaded will increase.

Check if your machine is overclocked, this maybe introducing errors in the work units that are causing them to fail.
Check the temperature of computer/cpu/graphics cards to see if there maybe a problem there (your other 2 computers are downloading fine (over 350 work units on each).
Are other Boinc projects working on this computer?
If they are then do a "Detach" then "Reattach" to the project and see if that helps.
If the detach/reattach does nothing then it may need a fresh install of Boinc in case of a corrupted file or files.

Just a few suggestions as the error report does not mean much to me.

Conan.

(Edit:- I noticed that you had another previous post about "Exceeding CPU Usage" quote : 8/27/2010 8:50:56 AM|| suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 25 %
8/27/2010 8:50:56 AM|| (to change preferences, visit the web site of an attached project, or select Preferences in the Manager) /quote

Just wondering if you did go into preferences and change this setting (default in latest versions) from 25% to 100% as this would fix that problem you were having?
