Your personal background.
|
I am the primary scientist directing the development and application of molecular docking techniques for the Docking@Home project. I am a NIH funded postdoctoral fellow in the Charlie Brooks III lab at The Scripps Research Institute in San Diego. My research focuses on the docking of small molecules to proteins using computational chemistry. Such studies can augment and direct experimental approaches to the structure-based-design of specific protein-ligand interactions. I earned my PhD in medicinal chemistry at the University of Washington studying under professor Valerie Daggett.
My profile image is a memorial for my dear friends Beth and Tony's cat Miguel (my favorite cat ever) who recently died on Sept 13 2006. Here is an image of the amazingly ancient and "one-eyed" Miguel (looking quite handsome - Beth adds). May he forever rest in peace in the great litterbox in the sky.
