Message boards : Docking@Home Science : Can you give us a science update? ( Message 6472 )Posted 2137 days ago by Michela We are almost done with the cross-docking of the HIV complexes. This will give us important data we need for our post-processing for the HIV protein. At the same time we will be finally able to start the cross-docking with a new protein, the trypsin. We will start the analysis of the HIV data very soon and should have some results for you all at the end of October. Thank you all for the great help! |

Message boards : Docking@Home Science : ExSciTech?? ( Message 6471 )Posted 2137 days ago by Michela I'm interested, but it's now July. We wish to be faster. We are working as hard as we can but we have to juggle with our classes, assignments and homework. We are making good progress with the integration of the game into VMD and plugging VMD in BOINC. We are not ready for an alpha release :-( |

Message boards : Windows : After XXX hours, progress is 0.00% ( Message 6434 )Posted 2198 days ago by Michela Hi Ed =) I don't know if they resolved the problem (from the continued posts I would guess not) but from my experience and what I could gather from other posts this only seemed to affect computers with Intel Core2 Duo processors which had the Wolfdale chipset. The problem seems isolated to that specific processor, so the workunits should work fine on other computers and indeed I have run it on several others, all of which had different processors. Good guess, we will look at this and keep you posted. Thanks :-) |

Message boards : Number crunching : HELP - Consistant 0% Progress - Client Problem? ( Message 6433 )Posted 2198 days ago by Michela I just joined and I seem to have this 0% issue. Hi, can I please have the name of the jobs with 0 % progress? I just checked the server and we have space on the disk (in the past it was one of the reasons for the problem). The testing machines in the lab seems to crunch well. We will look at this in detail tomorrow morning. Michela |

Since the app does not seem to work I will be leaving the project. Hi Ed, sorry to hear that you have this issue. Our testing machines are crunching OK. Still we must look into this issue. You can read our work at: http://gcl.cis.udel.edu/publications/conferences/011HPCC/paper.pdf The work is about intelligent ways to run volunteer computing projects so that we use the resources in the more effective way while we purse quality of science. Let us know what you think about the paper. It may be a little bit technical in some parts! Michela |

Message boards : Number crunching : A probable charmm crash ( Message 6405 )Posted 2220 days ago by Michela Now with yet another workunit: Thank you for pointing out the issue with the screensaver. We should really upgrade our screensaver but for the moment the person who developed the screensaver left the group and we are looking for a new person. Hopefully for fall we will have new students joining the team. |
